Secluded cabin with great high speed internet. We work remotely and found it difficult to find an Airbnb in the Asheville area with high speed internet. This house had it all, babbling brook, king size bed, hot tub, and great internet! Even had several white squirrel sightings from the porch. Would highly recommend. |

Perfect jumping off point to all the mountain spots in Southern NC. My one concern was met immediately. Would book this cabin again. |

This is a beautiful property! Has a stream running right behind the property just beyond the deck and hot-tub, so you can sit out there and enjoy the sound of falling water (and also songbirds!). Very well-kept and cosy place. Highly recommended. |

We had a great time at this cabin! The amenities were great, the view and scenery were fantastic, and we appreciated how private it was. Would definitely return to this area again! |

We've stayed in dozens of cabins over the years. So we'd first like to say that finding a pet-friendly one cleaned thoroughly enough that we couldn't detect any pet odors, that's in such an incredible location with all the basics (including a well-equipped kitchen), sparkling clean hot tub —is a rare find! We hit the trails every day with our dogs, and evenings we enjoyed cooking our meals (be sure to bring along some tinfoil, plastic wrap & ziplocks) and then hitting the tub. Just be aware that there's a yard service that comes once per week. While we were sitting in the living room, one of the men came all the way up onto the deck to blow leaves and knocked over our mountain bike without apologizing. We were a bit shocked by the privacy invasion and would have preferred to know about this arrangement before we booked. One of our dogs is very anxious around strangers, and it took us a while to get her calmed down. The host told us they don't have any way of knowing when the yard service will be showing up since they drop by as their schedule permits. The only other thing to consider is the checkout time. In all the cabins we've stayed in, the earliest checkout time we've had is 11am. This one is 10am, which wasn't a problem for us for this trip but did seem on the early side especially for those of us travelling from the Central Time zone or beyond. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and really appreciated the small gated area to let the dogs out. |

Cabin was super clean and very close to the beautiful waterfalls we wanted to explore! Morning coffee was enjoyed on the back deck while listening to the creek flowing. Evenings were spent soaking in the hot tub. Would highly recommend this cabin! Looking forward to planning our next stay there! |

On a babbling brook and so cozy and peaceful. Great place to recharge and leave the world behind. Easy access to both Hendersonville and Brevard and excellent parks for hiking and viewing waterfalls. |

Quaint quiet cabin in woods! This cabin is truly charming and has great space. Three decks give wonderful opportunities to spread out and drink in the nature that surrounds you. Relax and close your eyes in the evening on any of these decks, one has a hot tub, and you will hear the tranquility of birds and the background sound of the babbling brook. Sink into the hot tub after a day of exploring Pisgah National Forest. For an easy hike try Moore Cove Falls and behold nature’s beauty! Great base camp to discover outlying towns as well such as Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville. Overall, the cabin is very clean and well equipped for cooking. Some of the furniture is in need of updates. The couch is nothing to lounge on for a long period of time and the mattresses are very firm. Keep in mind the value of the cabin overall and I would say it’s a great place to stay! |

David’s place was awesome! Love the hot tub and the area was very vice. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the fact that we had a lot of responsibilities for cleaning even though we paid a cleaning fee and even paid extra on top of it all for our dogs. Didn’t think it was necessary to get further charges to have to remake the beds, take the dishes out the dish washer and dry them(only 1 dish towel too), vacuum the house, do a load of laundry, and a few more responsibilities. Although this it wasn’t the end of the world just seemed extra to charged more if we didn’t complete these task. But really he was a great host, responsive, and I do recommend it. Very peaceful. |

My husband and toddler daughter and I came down for a quick hiking trip, and our first getaway in over two years. The cabin was charming and had every thing we needed and more. We enjoyed being able to cook a quick meal our first night there, and worked on one of the puzzles throughout our stay. The house was toddler friendly and we all loved sitting out on the upstairs deck. We didn’t use the hot tub, but was pleased it was an option. While we were initially concerned about where our toddler would sleep, the pack and play actually fit perfectly in the dressing room off the main bedroom. We had a lovely stay. Thank you. |

This cabin is just as advertised - we enjoyed playing board games, eating on the deck, and using the hot tub, as well as hiking at DuPont and visiting shops in Brevard. When we arrived the roll-away was not there, but the owners quickly remedied that situation. My only issue was that there is no really good spot for the pup to do her business up near the house, so we took a lot of walks up and down the road in front. This was not a disappointment in the house at all, just an "FYI" if you are bringing a dog. It was a great and needed get-away for our family. Thanks for the hospitality! |

Gorgeous cottage nestled in the hillside next to a small creek. Our dogs loved the fenced-in side yard and we loved the hot tub. Convenient location to downtown Brevard, Pisgah National Forest, and Dupont State Forest. |

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Wild Rock! It was the perfect place for the two of us to spend our first couple of days as newlyweds! Getting to the house was was exciting going up those long and narrow roads. Views were beautiful from the hot tub. Only minor complaint is the amount of white dog hair that was left all over the living room couch. We would definitely go back again and wish we could have stayed longer! |

We've now stayed at several of the Sams' homes in Pisgah and this was another positive experience! House was clean, cozy, and temperate, kitchen was well-stocked, bed was comfy, hot tub evenings were dreamy, neighbors were quiet, dog area is fenced and full of interesting smells! We try not to turn on the TV on vacation, but I must confess we also had a blast one afternoon engaging in a very competitive Wii bowling tournament! Since recently each being vaccinated against Covid, we got a little more adventurous with our outings this time--eating and drinking our way thru downtown Brevard one afternoon, a traditional stop at Sideways Brewery, and a beautiful waterfall hike in Dupont Forest yesterday. |

This was the perfect quiet spot for my and my daughter's mini mother/daughter vacay. The cabin was very cozy and lovely. We enjoyed the hot tub and sitting on the porch communing with nature or sitting inside with the fireplace going. We'd definitely stay here again. |

We enjoyed our stay at Babbling Brook cottage. The hot tub was especially enjoyable. We enjoyed the little fireplace, especially during the chilly times. We wish the weather had been warmer so we could have hung out on the porches more often. The babbling brook nearby was soothing to watch and hear. We'd definitely stay again. |

This cabin is in a great location, very close to an entrance of the Pisgah State Forest and Dupont Forest. We hiked every day. The hot tub and deck are also nice, especially with the stream so close by. There is plenty of room to cook and hang out. The mattresses could use an upgrade, as noted by previous guests. Otherwise, a really nice cabin. |

This was a wonderful location - close to both Brevard and Hendersonville downtowns with plenty of restaurants and breweries (we loved Dry Falls). Also so close to Pisgah and DuPont Forests for excellent hiking and outdoor activities. The house was great with a beautiful deck to relax, the hot tub which was great and the back area with a fire pit. We really enjoyed the space. |

Absolutely loved this place, the kitchen was stocked and the hot tub and porches were amazing. Wifi was in and out a few times, but it nothing a quick reset wouldn’t fix. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. |

This cabin was great! Located close to hiking trails and some great local restaurants and breweries. The hot tub was a perfect addition after a day of hiking and a wonderful place to sit the night it stormed. Loved having a fenced place for our dogs to hang out while we were on the deck. Cabin was very clean and well stocked with all we needed. A wonderful break from the city. |

Celebrated our early 26th anniversary at Mountain Shadows. The property was easy to find, just around the corner from several other cabins and houses. Nestled on the side of a sloping lot it was not as high up as we would have liked but the views were still pleasant. The property was clean and smelled like mild disinfectant. Some documentation was worn and some lacking as there were no extra blank hot tub agreements. These are mandatory according to the notices posted, so we made sure to read and then sign the bottom of another paper. The hot tub was clean and easy to use and very nice to sit in early in the morning in the cold of the day or after hiking or activity. The kitchen was in use each day as we ate most meals in, but the pendant lights over the bar flicker and we had to keep them off because we did not want to trigger a migraine in my wife. The bathroom had good water pressure and we had plenty of hot water. The bed was firm but pleasant. We would have loved a kingsize instead of a queen but we slept fine. We enjoyed the quiet location and spent time reading and relaxing. We also watched tv several times and it was nice to have Netflix and other streaming services on the devices. The couch in the Living room is quite awful, and we were thankful we had read some other reviews which mentioned it so we were prepared. It truly is not comfortable and needs replacing. Our goal was to spend some time enjoying waterfalls and this place was perfectly located to do just that. The property is in the heart of some glorious hikes and beautiful sites. We spent time in Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Recreation area hiking easy to moderate trails and viewing Slippery Rock, Moore's Cove Falls, Triple Falls, and High Falls among other stunning local vistas. Highly recommend searching "waterfalls near me" when you are here. We also spent time in local towns such as Brevard where we walked along Main street and spent an inordinate amount of time at O.P. Taylor's toy store - not just for kids trust us! We checked out a top-rated craft/nano-brewery and enjoyed a beer flight at Okalwaha Brewery and some awesome live music led by the French Broad Valley Music Association (FBVMA) one evening and then wandered downtown Hendersonville on another day. We would recommend Mountain Shadows as a lovely little cabin close to amazing waterfalls and glorious nature and quaint towns. Great place, great stay. |

This was our second trip we have taken to falling water cabin. We brought my 90 year old grandma with us this time & she loved everything about the house. The home is good for elderly if they can make it up & down 5-6 stairs with assistance. We are still as impressed as we were the first time we came. We didn’t want to leave so quick the second time around so we extended our time there. David was super quick with accepting requests & has always made us feel welcome. It’s an easy trip coming from the Charlotte area, no super large hills or anything like that. You don’t need a 4x4 (except maybe when you’re expecting winter weather but that’s just for precautionary measures) to make it to this quaint mountain home like you do so many other rentals in the mountains. We will be back eventually for sure. Thanks for having us again, David! |
